EACH YEAR whales from the Caribbean obey an ancient call and travel north to feed along the shores of Newfoundland and Labrador. During July and August, Humpback, Fin and Minke whales, pods of Orcas and schools of Harbour Porpoise linger to feed and play. Two Whales Retreats invites you to join us in meeting with these magnificent animals and to use the ancient techniques of Tai-Chi and meditation to slow down and access your own inner wisdom.
The region of Newfoundland we have chosen for this retreat is also home to one of the largest colonies of Bald Eagles in North America. Watching the Eagles soar reminds us of our own Higher Purpose and encourages us to take an overview of our lives.
Our ten day retreat programme will take you away from the hectic pace and information overload which constitutes daily life for so many of us. Tai-Chi and meditation techniques, taught by experienced practitioners, will give you the tools to slow down and simply BE.
Our retreat itinerary includes two trips along the local coastline to make contact with the whales, lots of inspiring Tai-Chi teaching – much of it outside in the beautiful coastal scenery, whilst whales swim offshore and the soothing sounds of the ocean bring us closer and closer to nature.
We will see lots of Bald Eagles during our boat trips and will also spend a whole day surrounded by them on Eagle Beach as we practice Tai-Chi and meditation.
Our Tai-Chi teacher, David Ellis, presents his teaching with warmth and humour; his students have fun and go home with practical tools to use in their day to day living. No previous experience of Tai-Chi is necessary but a willingness to be open to change is essential.
Meditation sessions will be led by David or Sue Asquith, who has practiced and taught meditation techniques for over twelve years.
This is a retreat for those looking for health and rejuvenation on all levels of being – heart, body, mind and spirit. Let us help you to reconnect with the ancient pathway to a balanced life, rediscover nature and a sense of inner peace. Join us to linger, feed and play!
